My name is Kristin Kee, a.k.a. Kiki, and I’m a former Spanish teacher recently turned full-time travel blogger! I’m a 35 year old single gal from Texas who LOVES to travel. If you look up the word “wanderlust” in the dictionary, it is defined as “a strong desire to travel.” But for me, it’s so much more than that! It’s not so much a desire as it is a necessity to travel. Every fiber of my being vibrates with the energy I receive from exploring the unknown world around me! I have an innate curiosity and an unquenchable thirst for getting to know new places, people, cultures, and languages. It’s almost as if my soul becomes stagnant if I stay still in one place for too long.
I was first bitten by the wanderlust bug when I was seven years old on a family trip to San Francisco. I’m originally from Ft. Worth, TX, and San Francisco couldn’t be any more different! Even as a seven-year-old, the energy of that city resonated with me in such a way that it awakened a new way of seeing the world around me. And isn’t that what travel is all about? From that moment forward, I fell in love with the unknown world around me! So, it could be argued that for me, it’s not a case of wanderlust but rather wanderlove.
I’m a firm believer that travel and the experiences it brings can heal whatever ails you. Whether you are mending a broken heart, working on self love, or learning to love others, by embracing the eye-opening experiences that travel has to offer, you open yourself up to a whole new world.
